The Journal of Penny Grant - April 29 - Our Wedding (2)

Take a good look at the groom, that handsome man. My Nick.

We had to wait for the guests to settle before we could finally begin the ceremony.

That was practically parent's corner over there. Nick's Dad, Mom, my Dad.

I think they are all happy that this time around there is a big wedding with the family. Abbey and Stephen just went to city hall one day and signed a few papers.

My brothers were feeling pretty choked up. I'm not sure what Jerod was think about, he's just back from a trip to Egypt. He didn't even stop to change clothes.

Then it was time to start the real ceremony. I feel like I've waited forever for this moment.

Penny, I wish to share my life with you.
I pledge my eternal love.
Like Fire, we will fuel the flames
of our relationship with love
Like Water, love may rise and fall
but the tides of love are eternal
Like Wind, love is like air,
without it, we shall surely die
Like earth, love needs a place to grow
it sinks deep roots in our hearts.
Fire, Water, Wind and Earth

With this ring, I seal my pledge.
I promise to use the elements to
feed our love forever.

of our relationship with love
Like Water, love may rise and fall

Emerald thought the ceremony was beautiful.

Ronnie wasn't quite as impressed as any of the parents. She is looking stunning in her new dress.

Mom and Dad spent a fortune on our dresses. Dad muttered something about no more new clothes but I don't think he meant it.

Because he was looking very pleased about our wedding. As was Brad.

Finally, we've done it. It's official. Mr and Mrs Grant.

Apparently Dad had a chat with Nick at some point. I have the family journal, am supposed to wear a hat and Nick had to become a Grant. He must have been cool with it.

Now how long till we can ditch the party and find a bed? We have some fun time waiting.

Well, it will be a little while before we can ditch the party. We have the guests to consider. Our guests applauded.

A few cheered and threw confetti.

Then I cut our wedding cake. It was a lovely 3 tier affair.

It's berry flavor. That's interesting, I had no idea we had berry wedding cakes.

Nick also had cake, some of the other guests hit the buffet instead of taking some cake. Salad does look a little bit healthier but not as tasty.

It wasn't long after the cake cutting that the party started to wind down. A few of the guests had to go to work, including Vincent and Ronnie's friend Eddie. Everyone else was getting tired, it had been a work day for most of the guests.

"Penny?"

"Yes Dad?"

"It's time to give you your wedding present from your Mom and I." Dad tossed me some keys.

"A car? Gosh, Dad..." He interrupted me.

"No, Penny, those are keys to your new house."

They bought us a house? "Dadddyyyy! You are the best."

"You might want to grab a few clothes for the night. The taxi is due any moment. We wanted to keep it a surprise, so you'll have to come back tomorrow for anything else you need."

Dad wasn't kidding. It was only a couple of minutes later that a taxi arrived. Nick hadn't really unpacked since moving to our place. I grabbed just enough for an overnight stay.

Oh my, Mom and Dad didn't just buy us a tiny little house. It's a large house with a couple of bedrooms and a nursery.

I think that the nursery may be a hint. Mom and Dad both want more grandchildren to spoil. I've heard Dad hint as much to Stephen on the phone.

"I'm going to tickle you till you surrender and come to bed."

"Stop Nick, I surrender already."

Our first time in our new home, in our new bed.

One thing is sure, this won't be the last.

It's sort of weird, it's the first time I've ever slept in a room that I didn't share with Ronnie. A girl could get very used to this though.

And can there be a better way to wake up in the morning?

I didn't think so.

Bonus pics

Nick, you are just barely married to Penny. Can't scaring her wait till tomorrow for heaven's sake?
This was wedding 2, which is why Nick and Penny have slightly different formals.

What's that face about?

I must admit, I'm slightly worried for Nick. He only has rolled a few wants since joining the household, and we've filled all of them.  The big 2 were to marry Penny and move in with her, both filled. Can't keep you happy Nick, unless you want stuff.

Phillip and Vanessa could easily afford the new house for Penny and Nick. We bought the house, moved over, left Penny with 10,000 cash and gave back 48,000 to Phillip and co. I think Vanessa's royalties are currently about 20,000 a week.

  1. Lovely update as always. I especially love Nicks idea of foreplay lol.

  2. Thanks Rae.

They only have a few days of the "Feeling Frisky" in the romantic menu and then it's gone forever. So Penny and Nick will be using that while they can. Cause I forgot with Sammy.

  3. So sweet. I saw Gens in Target, held the box in my hands and was tempted I must admit. As your story progresses I shall see more of what Gens offers ... who knows? BTW when I was reading my son walked into the room. He was as thrilled as I to see Eddie.

  4. It may add a few more glitches but it also adds a ton of neat stuff. Like the wedding arch, wedding cake and "Feeling Frisky" after newly married.

Between this and the current Sammy story, you'll see most of what Generations has to offer.

Brief appearance by Eddie, but he is very close to Ronnie at the moment. I have no idea what will happen with him now, it's up to them.

  5. It's beautiful... their oaths are so beautiful. Very sweet and romantic. Love it!

He-he.. love the way he tickled her.

:D I must laugh at the last picture...

    Love this update.
I hope you will not experience any glitches and Nick will be okay.
At least you haven't experienced bad glitches like I am... Now, I don't have any meteor attack, or losing relationship and family ties...however, they will still be young forever. Days left to age up: never. Well, they don't have to make that young potions for certain XD.

  6. Aw, thanks MJ. I ended up writing some because I couldn't find what I wanted online.

I love "Feeling Frisky" it's cute. Too bad it doesn't last.

I think Nick will eventually start having more wishes. Some Sims seem slower to generate them then others.

I'm sorry that you are still suffering with glitches :( My game seems to have more small ones post Generations but nothing like yours.

  7. And oh, Jerod! I missed him :D

Somehow, I feel that was connected to your other story.

Yes, too bad the "be frisky" will not last. It's too cute.

  8. Jerod is an amazingly popular guy. He'll be back as soon as I work out one part of the plot. It's too critical to the story to wait and see what happens.

Yep, frisky is very cute. But unfortunately, they stop all too soon.

  9. D'awww. That's pretty much my main point here. XD The whole thing was so cute! The vows were pretty and unique, and I loved everyone's clothes. And the house is cute!! Looking forward to see what life has in store for the newlyweds- but at the same time, you better make them visit Phillip and Vanessa ;)

Nice tie in to the short story Jerod!

  10. Hey Amelia, cute main point. :)

Yes, a good wedding should have a lot of AWWW factor. I was pleased by the vows, when I finally decided I had to write some.

The house is just Generation's default Kid Friendly Mom approved or something like that.

The newlyweds should see both sets of parents from time to time. And the sibs but not quite as frequently. Penny will want to see her twin, and she should keep in touch with those older brothers. Same with Nick (spouse with family - that's so weird for this blog)

  11. I keep looking at the wedding venue. The rich colors you used are so pretty! I'm a big fan of rich, bold colors so I find the effect you achieved very appealing.

The bonus pic of Nick scaring his bride cracked me up. Especially when a few pics up he was being so romantic and sweet with Penny. She's gonna have her hands full with that one.

Weddings are so much more fun and interesting with Generations. It really works in your blog. I just wish Sam and Rachel could have taken advantage. Every time you have a new wedding or baby in this blog, I think of Sam and Rachel and how they started it all.

  12. Hey Chrysame, that's very nice. I might do a couple more things with it and fling it on the exchange. Just cause I do like it.

Nick will be an interesting mate. I'm interested to see how they go. At least he isn't the only Sim she ever flirted with...just in the long term, the only one she was serious about.

Awwwww, Sam and Rachel would have loved some of this stuff indeed. More to do with the kids. Nicer wedding. It was a long time ago now but they were always quite the couple.

  13. Awww, the wedding was beautiful. The bride and groom looked awesome and loved the vows.

  14. Awwww!! Beautiful vows for the beautiful couple--I'm so so happy for them. <33 Looking at everyone's reactions was really sweet, too.

Especially Jerod's. lol. Got a goooood chuckle out of his!! Definitely a nice tie-in with the Egypt thing. ;)

Phillip and Vanessa are definitely generous to no end, buying them their own house--I'm sure it was difficult for them to let their little girl go, but it's for the best I'm sure. They have to let her live her own life eventually!

Seeing her and Nick together definitely makes me smile--they look so happy. :3 Yay!!!

And hint--Penny, you don't HAVE to have kids right away. >_> *hides from PiB!*

  15. @Dee - Awww, thank you lovely Dee. Weddings are so much better with Generations.

  16. @kaleeko, I tried to cheat and find approximately what I wanted for vows online. But nothing was suitable. So I had to write some.

I do love the way the guests react to the wedding.

Jerod is definitely a character and a half. It's going to be weird when he reaches elder.

Phillip and Vanessa weren't quite as generous with Penny and Nick as they were with Stephen. :) Stephen got a smaller house but they gave him a pub. The combo cost more then Penny's house. They do have the money and they do want to see their children happy. And I don't have to be there when the Reaper comes for them - which is a big bonus for me.

Penny and Nick are very happy. Nick is off to a good start at his new job. Penny might look at a career in athletics since martial arts doesn't actually pay.

Oh, and poor Penny. They have woohoo'd three times. One at the base, one after the "Frisky" and one Risky woohoo. Twas way riskier than she thought.
